Clear, grade, dig
Site crew, then an excavator with its operator and three labourers. Excavation sets the pace for everything behind it.
Four foundation pads, twelve resources and £371,621 of cost to load. Build the programme, give every activity its crew, plant and materials, then update it twice and read what the earned value is telling you.

The programme draws itself, the budget loads to £371,621 and the baseline S-curve climbs. By the end of the class you will have built every frame of it in P6.
Each pad runs the same sequence. The pours are chained, so one crew moves from North to South to East to West, and the critical path hops across the site with it.

Carpenters and formwork ply. Two gangs on site, four pads that want them at once. You will find the clash in the resource profile.
Steel is a material resource priced per tonne. One pad fixes it with a smaller gang: same activity, different resource need.
Ready-mix by the cubic yard, a crew of four and a truck. Four pours in sequence close the job on 01/08/2025.
Twelve resources. Open any activity to see the assignments to enter in P6 and the arithmetic behind its budgeted cost. Your figures should match to the pound.

Concrete, steel and formwork ply are costed on quantity, not duration: enter the budgeted units directly. Steel divided by concrete should sit near 0.10 t per cubic yard on every pad. A figure three times higher is a typing error, not a design.
West-130 fixes 9.5 t with Rebar Workers × 2, not × 3. Same activity, different need. Assign activity by activity.

Site reports to close of play on Wednesday; the new data date is Thursday 09:00. Enter the dates, remaining duration, Physical % and the actual and remaining units, then schedule.
Earned value is the baseline budget multiplied by Physical % Complete. Planned value spreads each baseline budget evenly over its working days.
